RNase A
Highlights
- Cleaves single-stranded RNA at pyrimidine residues
- No requirement for divalent metal ions
- Effective in RNA removal and mapping applications
Product Details
RNase A (Ribonuclease A) is a single-chain endoribonuclease that hydrolyzes single- stranded RNA at the 3′ end of uridine and cytidine residues, yielding 3′ phosphate- terminated oligonucleotides. It is widely used in RNA removal, RNA structure and sequence analysis, and during DNA purification workflows.
The enzyme shows optimal activity at pH 7.5 and 37°C and is inhibited by SDS, heavy metals, and RNase inhibitors. It is provided as a lyophilized powder for reconstitution in sterile buffer.
Additional Information
- Filter-sterilize the solution if desired
- Aliquot and store at –20°C to avoid freeze–thaw cycles
